Bar code not dull anymore.

Thin, thin, thick, thin, thick, thick, thin. That’s what you get from an ordinary bar code, printed on the back of your daily nutritious whatever, from the supermarket.

Of course there is a “but”… but the design team at Design Barcode thought of using the bar codes to make something different, other than being dull on a product. They’ve managed to integrate design elements into the bar code of products.

Here are a few examples I’ve handpicked from their site.

114 Bar code not dull anymore.

215 Bar code not dull anymore.

312 Bar code not dull anymore.

42 Bar code not dull anymore.

In 2005, Design Barcode was awarded the Good Design Award in the Communication Design Category, and has since created designed bar codes for major Japanese brands such as Suntory, Calbee, Wacoal and others

They’re not that fresh, i mean it’s not hot news, but still snaps out of the regular barcode routine.
